Time and again Saint Lucia is nominated as one of the best honeymoon destinations worldwide. With an abundance of 4 and 5 star hotels and resorts, stunning sunsets, gorgeous beaches and lush scenery, we have all the ingredients for an unforgettable honeymoon. Here are some of the most romantic things to do in Saint Lucia.
Dinner for Two
Can you think of anything more romantic than sharing a bottle of fine wine and savouring mouth-watering food against a backdrop of the ocean, amidst the mangroves or the outline of the Pitons? Saint Lucia has a plethora of top-notch restaurants where you’re guaranteed delicious meals and an ambiance that sets the mood for a love-filled evening.
It is said it’s the little things that count and we believe honeymoons are no different. If you’re looking for a hidden retreat amidst the mangroves, try Rainforest Hideaway in Marigot Bay.
Cap Maison in Cap Estate at the far north of the island has many spots on its property with stunning views of the Caribbean Sea, of Martinique and of some incredible sunsets. The view from The Cliff at Cap restaurant matches the cuisine from its award-winning executive chef.
Tapas on the Bay offers waterside dining and shareable meals to tickle the taste buds. If dining outside isn’t to your taste, pop next door to Big Chef Steakhouse for some of the best steak on the island.
Saint Lucia is a volcanic island resulting in some seriously dramatic landscape! Mountains rise up creating a number of exciting trails and hikes that any nature lover would appreciate. Weaving through the interior of the island and sometimes with a refreshing waterfall at the end, these treks attract visitors and locals alike. Most trails are moderate to strenuous so ensure you’re in good health before setting out.
Two of the more popular trails are the Gros Piton Hike and Tet Paul Nature Trail, both in Soufrière. The Gros Piton Hike takes approximately four hours to complete and offers breathtaking views of the southern end of Saint Lucia. Tet Paul Nature Trail is a less strenuous walk with views no less remarkable; every visitor to Saint Lucia should have a photo of the Pitons! Other trails include the Barre de L’isle, Fort Rodney, Enbas Saut Waterfall and Des Cartiers Rainforest Trail.
Saint Lucia, being the small island that it is, always has a body of water nearby. Nowhere on the island are you more than 15 minutes away from a beach, waterfall or river. As such, we have many water-based activities for honeymooners.
Saint Lucia is filled with healthy reefs that are full of life and colour. Several dive centres offer excellent classes and services such as Dive Saint Lucia. If scuba diving is a little intimidating, try SNUBA where you’re attached to a 20ft hose that is secured to a floatation device. Other water-based activities to share with your partner include paddle boarding, kayaking, jet skiing, kite surfing . . . or, just lying on the beach and soaking up those beautiful Caribbean rays!
