Lina and Loris Guinetti are one such couple. The pair told us that the beauty of Saint Lucia, with it green hills and mountains, the Pitons, and clear, blue waters made it an easy choice for their wedding.
Lina, a Colombian, and Loris, an Italian, met in 2008 in London where they currently live. They began their relationship as friends and, as these things tend to happen, their relationship grew into something more.
They arrived in Saint Lucia three days before their wedding – to torrential rain! Loris admitted he and his bride-to-be were worried about being able go through with the day they had envisioned – a backdrop of the calm Caribbean Sea, the sun shining down on them and the soft yellow sand between their toes. Ah, but perhaps this is why Saint Lucia is so magical – the clouds cleared to brilliant skies and bright sunshine. Now, who doesn’t believe in miracles?
The beautiful couple said, “I do” on November 12th, 2016 at Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort. Lina wore a champagne chiffon and lace dress from a boutique in Spain called Eugenia Santiago, with purple and white orchids in her hair, as a wrist corsage and in her bouquet. Loris wore simple grey slacks rolled around the ankle, a waistcoat and a white shirt.
Many people prefer to have large ceremonies; others prefer a more intimate setting. Our gorgeous couple decided they needed only each other! With just the bride and groom, the complications and fuss that often accompany a wedding were at a minimum, leaving Loris and Lina to enjoy each other’s company to the fullest. This didn’t stop them from having a first dance to the ultra romantic “All of Me” by John Legend, following their romantic ceremony at the resort’s gazebo. The newlyweds enjoyed bubbly champagne and canapés in the gazebo and ended their perfect day with a beach-side dinner.
TT wanted to know their favourite part of the day: Loris admitted that it was watching his bride walk down the beach towards him and the assurance that she was about to become his wife – we couldn’t think of a better answer. So what was on the agenda for the rest of their tropical vacation? Lina and Loris took a catamaran tour to the Pitons and sipped on delectable local rum punch.
We asked Mr. and Mrs. Guinetti whether they’d ever visit us again and received a resounding ‘Yes!” They said they felt welcomed, especially by the staff at Sandals Grande. What about a honeymoon? Loris replied: “We had a wedding-moon! We will travel some more next year.”
We certainly couldn’t get over how beautiful Lina and Loris are together and we wish them a lifetime of laughter, happiness and love.
