The appeal of Spinnakers never wanes. Located on Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay, it has wonderful views, great food, reasonable prices, friendly service and a laid-back atmosphere. It is one of TT’s favourite venues for a drink and a satisfying meal at any time of the day.

The owners of Spinnakers are proud that many of their staff have been with them for years, some since the restaurant opened. It’s because they love their job and work hard at ensuring your visit leaves you sated and happy.

Spinnakers is open seven days a week and offers different menus according to the time of day. The breakfast fare ranges from eggs, done your way, with toast, through to full English. Local produce and style are emphasized on every menu — you can start the day with traditional Lucian saltfish and cucumber or moreish Caribbean style banana pancakes.

The lunch menu incorporates soups, salads and sandwiches plus daily specials of fish and meat, depending on what the chef has sourced and prepared.

Dinner at Spinnakers takes on a magical atmosphere, with hundreds of fairy lights casting a warm glow. The menu is comprehensive and playful — appetizers are classed as ‘Casting Off’ — and the extensive choice caters for vegetarians. For an entree choose one of the pasta dishes, a fish or seafood from ‘All at Sea’ or a red or white meat from the ‘On the Dock’ selection. The price of most main courses includes your choice of potato, rice or vegetables of the day.

Many entrees are served with a tasty sauce. One bite and you know instantly that it’s home-made. The same applies to the delicious desserts which promote local fruits and flavours.

Spinnakers is as famous for its happy hour as its good food and superb location. From 5 to 6 pm alcoholic cocktails, wines by the glass and house spirits are ‘two for the price of one’. The cocktail menu has a wide variety of amusingly named beverages, and sipping one of them while watching the sunset is a lovely way to bid farewell to the daylight.

Spinnakers is comfortable for any age group and has high chairs for toddlers. And as well as listening to the waves lap the shore, catch a live music performance at the weekend.
